Evidence-based treatment, personalized for your child

Patient Resources

Initial Evaluation

The initial evaluation consists of two one-hour appointments. The first appointment is with parents only, allowing them to speak openly about their child. This meeting also helps build trust with adolescents. Meeting with the parents first prevents an adolescent from fearing that information shared in their own session will be disclosed to their parents afterwards.
The time between the first and second appointments allows me to review rating scales, past medical records, and school reports. While I may glance at these materials during our meetings, I reserve session time to listen carefully and focus on your concerns.

Initial evaluation: $475

  • Two one-hour appointments
  • A phone call “check-in” between the evaluation and the first appointment

Follow Up Appointments

After the initial evaluation and agreement to work together, the frequency of sessions will vary depending on the severity of your child’s presenting problems and your child’s treatment goals.

Insurance

To provide you with the highest-quality personalized service and to ensure the full confidentiality of your medical records, Waypoint Child & Adolescent Psychiatry does not contract with any insurance providers. All services are paid for in full at the beginning of each session via check, cash or credit card. If your insurance company provides out-of-network benefits, you may file your own claims for reimbursement. If requested, at the end of each appointment, you will receive a statement that contains the necessary documentation to file with your insurance.
I do not take insurance in order to create the kind of practice I want for my patients. I operate as a cash-based psychiatry practice, as opposed to an insurance-driven one. This approach lets me devote more time and attention to each client, emphasizing personalized support and ease of access instead of volume. Together, we design a treatment plan based on your child’s unique needs and goals, without interference from third parties. My commitment is to work alongside your family with your child’s wellbeing as the priority.
**Health insurance companies often require that I assign a specific diagnostic code to reflect your mental health condition before they will agree to reimburse you. In the event a diagnosis is required, and you submit your super bill, it will become a part of your permanent insurance records.
